On October 6, 2010, The GO Fund is hosting the Raise the Roof fundraising event at The Norwood Club, 241 W 14th St., New York City. In one night, friends of the GO Fund plan to raise $30,000 towards building Home for Hope, an orphanage in Asebu, Ghana.

We’ve teamed up with some of New York’s most sought after young professionals to plan a night of cocktails, performances, and a live auction so that our 200+ guests can help us Raise the Roof and build a permanent home for children in rural Ghana who have lost their parents due to HIV and AIDS.

Children like Paul, Grace, Ruth, and Clement have been gravely affected by the AIDS epidemic in Africa. Despite their hardships, they continue to study with an eye toward healthy, self-sufficient adult lives. Right now, the children are living in a building on loan from the community of Asebu. This temporary Home for Hope is the only shelter these children know, and because of Home for Hope, run by a courageous young man named Elvis Morris Donkoh, they can count on a daily dose of love, regular meals, health care, and the promise of an education and self-sufficiency. But the community needs their building back and unless a new facility is constructed there is a real possibility these children will become homeless.

Together at the Raise the Roof event on October 6th we can raise the $30,000 needed to provide a permanent home for these wonderful and vulnerable children. Proceeds from your ticket purchase will be used towards construction of the new orphanage. The GO Fund is a 501c3 organization; $75 of your contribution is tax-deductible.

The Raise the Roof event offers three levels of sponsorship: platinum, gold and silver. As a thank you for your support, we will provide you with direct promotional access to our guests who represent an elite group of the City’s most discerning tastemakers. Enclosed please find more information about this exciting event and its sponsorship levels.
