NYU Wagner Graduate Students return from visiting GO Fund programs in Ghana

Four NYU graduate students chose to study the Sew for Sisterhood project as their Master's thesis project called "Capstone". They will produce a report in May which assesses the impact of the program, documents the program model and provides recommendations for replicating and improving the program in other countries.

NYU Wagner School of Public Service Masters Students assess Sew for Sisterhood Program

January 14th, 2011 two NYU's Wagner School of Public Service, Masters Students will travel to Ghana to assess the Sew for Sisterhood program. They will observe the women in production and will document their processes. They will obtain a baseline on the women's current economic status in order for the GO Fund to evaluate in one to two years time, what impact this program has had on the lives of the women who participated. Their final report and recommendations will be available in May to those who are interested.

The GO Fund has launched a fashion-forward women's clothing & product line. All products are designed by fashion designer Monica Wontorski & made by the Sew For Sisterhood project in Ghana, West Africa. A collective of 14 women support their families through the sale of these clothing. Home for Hope Construction Update

Home for Hope; The GO Fund is in the midst of construction of a permanent home for over 30 orphans in Asebu, Ghana. As of today, the construction of a water well is complete. We now have water for construction purposes so the cement was poured to lay the the foundation today. The ground is cleared in additional plots of land that we purchased. By April these children will have a home. The GO Fund is proud to be able to be able to provide this to the community and thanks all of its Raise the Roof donors for making this possible.

RAISE THE ROOF PARTY RAISED $25,000

Raise the Roof party raised $25,000 of the $30,000 needed to build an orphanage in Ghana. Construction of a water well, which will provide safe drinking water for the area, has begun.
